TEACHING
"Every child deserves a champion - an adult who will never give up on them, who understands the power of connection, and insists that they become the best that they can possibly be."
- Rita Pierson

Much of what Daniel believes about teaching can be summed up in Ms. Pierson's quote. As a teacher, Daniel strives to combine musical excellence with a safe, respectful, electrically creative, and exciting environment. He believes that teaching can only be successful when his students know that he cares about their success and their lives. Teaching music affords a special opportunity for Daniel--he is able to foster an environment of experimentation, risk-taking, and community that may not be possible in another discipline. He finds incredible joy in watching his students succeed in ways they didn't believe to be possible while discovering and becoming the incredible people that they are.
